Description
Dimethylpolysiloxane is an antifoam agent derived from silicon and found in a wide variety of food products, including cooking oil, vinegar, chewing gum, chocolate and instant coffee. Dimethylpolysiloxane added to oils prevents oils from foaming when frozen ingredients are added, thereby improving product safety and longevity.
Uses
Dimethylpolysiloxane is widely used in food, pharmaceutical and personal care products. It can be used as an antifoam agent, medical device (root canal filling material), caulking agent, lubricant, as well as in shampoos, skin care products, contact lenses, elastomers and heat-resistant tiles.
