Uses
Tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol (THFA) is used as a specialty solvent and synthetic intermediate, e.g. to 3,4-dihydropyran, it is also often used in epoxy resin formulations in either the epoxy component or amine hardener as well as other general resin applications.
Preparation
Tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol is prepared by hydrogenation of furfural.

Denser than water and soluble in water.
Health Hazard
Inhalation or contact with material may irritate or burn skin and eyes. Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases. Vapors may cause dizziness or suffocation. Runoff from fire control or dilution water may cause pollution.
