• Preparation

  Add 500g of acetal A to a reaction vessel, add 500g of 5% phosphoric acid, heat to 60℃, start stirring, and stir for 6 hours. Stop the reaction when the acetal content is less than 1%. After the reaction is complete, wash the material with a 5% sodium hydroxide solution until the aqueous phase is weakly alkaline. Then, distill the washed crude product to obtain 410g of 2-ISOBUTYL-4-HYDROXY-4-METHYLTETRAHYDROPYRAN with a GC content of 97% and a yield of 82%.
