Chemical Properties
Reddish brown powder. Solubility in water (50°C) is 90g/L. The aqueous solution is bright red, turning orange-red upon addition of 1mol/L sodium hydroxide solution. Adding hydrosulfite and warming turns the color orange with a slight precipitate. Adding sodium perborate turns the color light yellow. In concentrated sulfuric acid, the color turns purple-red, turning pink upon dilution. In concentrated nitric acid, the color turns dark red, turning red upon dilution.
Uses
Reactive Red 120 acts as an azo textile dye used in fabric and the paper industry.

Enzyme inhibitor
This triazine dye (FWfree-acid = 1338.11 g/mol), which inhibits several
enzymes, is frequently immobilized on a polymeric matrix and used in dye-
affinity chromatography in protein purification. Note: Given its tendency to
bind in place of nucleotides, this agent is apt to have inhibitory effects
beyond those listed below. Target (s) : aldehyde reductase, or alcohol
dehydrogenase, NADP+-dependent; alkaline phosphatase; ferredoxin
hydrogenase; ferredoxin:NADP+ reductase; glucose-6-phosphate

Dyeing color for colourful blu-ray red, dyeing in light of iron ion slightly to yellow (category 4); Copper ions in turn light blue (level 2). Compatibility is high, the reaction of the medium, and easy to wash the gender is good. Mainly used for cotton or viscose fiber volume dye and disseminated, also can be used for direct printing, also suitable for polyester/cotton, polyester/stick blended dyeing.
