C12 NBD galactosylceramide is a biologically active derivative of galactosylceramide that is tagged with a fluorescent C12 nitrobenzoxadiazole (C12 NBD) group.¹ C12 NBD galactosylceramide has been used as an internal standard to detect products of C12 NBD ceramide glycosylation. As this product is derived from a natural source, there may be variations in the sphingoid backbone.
