nuances. It is prepared from the corresponding trimethylcyclododecatriene by
acetylation with acetic anhydride in the presence of boron trifluoride etherate
.
The product can be used to replace traditional materials such as sandalwood,
vetiver, and patchouli in perfume compositions.
