Azido-PEG3-methyl ester is a click chemistry reagent with an azide(N3) and methyl ester moieties. The azide group can react with alkynes in copper-free Click Chemistry reactions. Methyl ester can be hydrolyzed under strong basic condition. The hydrophilic PEG linker increases the water solubility of compounds in aqueous media.

Azido-PEG3-methyl ester is a PEG-based PROTAC linker that can be used in the synthesis of PROTACs[1]. Azido-PEG3-methyl ester is a click chemistry reagent, it contains an Azide group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction (CuAAc) with molecules containing Alkyne groups. It can also undergo strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) reactions with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups.
