General procedure for the synthesis of (3,5-dimethylisoxazol-4-yl)methanamine from 4-(chloromethyl)-3,5-dimethylisoxazole: To a solution of 4-(chloromethyl)-3,5-dimethylisoxazole (1.0 g, 6.9 mmol) in dioxane (10 mL) was added ammonia (10 mL). After the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 16 h, it was concentrated and washed with acetonitrile (20 mL) to afford (3,5-dimethylisoxazol-4-yl)methanamine (800 mg, yield: 92%) as a white solid.1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6): δ= 8.52 (brs, 2H), 3.81 (s, 2H), 2.45 (s , 3H), 2.30 (s, 3H).
