Biological Activity
Emeguisin A is a depsidone fungal metabolite originally isolated from E. unguis.1 It is active against the bacteria S. aureus and methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA; MIC = 0.5 μg/ml for both), the fungus C. neoformans (MIC = 0.5 μg/ml), and the protozoan P. falciparum (IC50 = 2.2 μM).2
