In addition, two sugar residues and two chlorine atoms are present on the molecule. The components of the A40926 complex differ in the length of the acyl chain, with factor A1 (R = n-decyl) as the main component.

Dalbavancin IMpurity is the precursor of Dalbavancin, is a second-generation glycopeptide antibiotic. It inhibits Gram-positive bacteria and is very effective against Neisseria gonorrhoeae.
