5-methoxy DALT is a tryptamine derivative recently used as a component in 'bath salts' that act directly on monoamine receptors (similar to 3,4-methylenedioxyamphetamine) to produce its psychoactive effects. The physiological, neurological, and toxicological actions of 5-methoxy DALT have not been fully characterized. This compound is intended as an analytical standard for the forensic analysis of samples that may contain this compound.
