Chlorpromazine (CPZ) is a phenothiazine classified as an antipsychotic compound. It antagonizes a range of receptors, including post-synaptic dopamine (D) and serotonin (5-HT) receptors (Kis = 0.66, 0.84, 1.2, and 1.8 nM for D2, D3, D4, and 5-HT2A, respectively). CPZ also antagonizes histamine (H), α1- and α2-adrenergic, and muscarinic acetylcholine (M) receptors (Kis = 6, 0.28, 27, 46, and 47 nM for H1, α1A, α2B, α2C, and M3, respectively).
