5,5-Diphenyl-2-thiohydantoin is a reactant for synthesis of imidazole derivatives, imidazothiazole and glycocyamidine derivatives for antimicrobial studies and fatty acid amide hydrolase inhibitor templates. It is also a reactant for anti-cancer agents, hydantoins and thiohydantoins and acyl CoA: cholesterol acyltransferase inhibitors.
