Introduction:

Sorbitan oleate aslo known as span 80 is oily liquid with color from amber to brown the relative density is 102.9 melting point 10-12℃ flash point 210℃ with fatty odor insoluble in water solopyl alcohol four vinyl chloride xylene cottonseed oil mineral oil is a kind of advanced lipophilic emulsifier;

Span 80 is an extremely mild but very powerful nonionic emulsifier. It is part of a broad range of ester materials including sorbitan esters, mono and diglycerides, and polyoxyethylene sorbitol esters. These nonionic surfactants can function as emulsifiers, detergents, spreading or dispersing agents. It finds wide use in the personal care industry.

Application:

An emulsifier Sorbitan monooleate is used as a lipophillic non-ionic surfactant, emulsifier, stabilizer for oil based lotions, ointments, in textiles as antistat, lubricant for fabric softener, sweetening agent, food additive, toothpaste, tobacco, toiletries and in cosmetics. It serves as a dispersant in oil field chemicals and as a corrosion Inhibitor. Further, it plays as an important role as excipient and intravenous osmotic diuretic in pharmaceutical fields.
