Biological Activity
Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by the ability of the immobilized protein to support the adhesion of the A549 human lung carcinoma cells is less than 5.0μg/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >200IU/mg.
Physical Appearance
Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a 0.2μm filtered concentrated solution in PBS, pH7.4.
Endotoxin
Less than 0.1EU/μg of rHuUteroglobin as determined by LAL method.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute in sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer containing 0.1% BSA to a concentration of 0.1-1.0mg/ml. Stock solutions should be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at ≤-20℃. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.

Background
Uteroglobin, also known as secretoglobin family 1A member 1 (SCGB1A1), is encoded by thek SCGB1A1 gene. It is the founding protein of the secretoglobin family, whose members are small, secreted, disulfide-bridged dimeric proteins found in mammals only. Uteroglobin is specifically expressed in clara cells in the lungs. It is multifunctional and found in various tissues in various names such as: uteroglobin (UG, UGB), uteroglobin-like antigen (UGL), blastokinin, clara cell secretory protein (CCSP), clara cell 16 kD protein (17 in rat/mice), clara Cell-Specific 10 kD protein (CC10), human protein 1, urine protein 1 (UP-1), polychlorinated biphenyl-binding protein (PCB-BP), human clara cell phospholipid-binding protein (hCCPBP), secretoglobin 1A member 1 (SCGB1A1). Its putative functions include immunomodulation, progesterone binding (weak in some animals, especially weak in humans), phospholipase A2 inhibitor etc. Human uteroglobin shares 50% ~ 60% amino acid sequence identity with murine, rat, equine and bovine uteroglobins.
