Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using murine Balb/c 3T3 cells is less than 1.0μg/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >1000IU/mg.
Physical Appearance
Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a 0.2μm filtered concentrated solution in 20mM Tris-HCl, pH8.6, 150mM NaCl.
Endotoxin
Less than 0.1EU/μg of rHuNOV as determined by LAL method.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute in sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer containing 0.1% BSA to a concentration of 0.1-1.0mg/ml. Stock solutions should be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at ≤-20℃. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.

Background
NOV, also named CCN3, IGFBP-9 and NovH, is belonging to the CCN (CTGF/CYR61/NOV) family and it is encoded by the NOV gene. It is expressed in certain tumors, including Wilm's tumor and most nephroblastomas. NOV interacts with several proteins and is involved in both internal and external cell signaling. NOV plays an important role in reducing tumorgenicity and proliferation of certain cancer cell lines. It also been reported to exert proangiogenic activities. Recombinant human NOV is an 36.2kDa protein containing 331 amino acid residues and it shares 80% and 81%a.a. identity with rat and murine NOV.
