盐酸阿比朵尔是一种有机物，化学式为C22H26BrClN2O3S，为类白色结晶性粉未，无引湿性，具有在甲醇中易溶，在冰醋酸中微溶，在水、稀盐酸和氢氧化钠试液中几乎不溶，熔点不明显的性质。

抗病毒药理表现在免疫力调节及抗流感作用。对消除A、B型流感病毒有特效，可阻碍病毒接触和渗透到细胞中，消除脂类膜病毒与细胞膜的结合。具有干扰和诱导刺激液体细胞免疫作用及巨噬细胞的吞噬功能，提高组织对病毒感染的抵抗力，降低与病毒感染相关的并发症及慢性恶化病菌性疾病的发作频率。阻止病毒细胞壁与正常细胞的结合，对抗A型流感病毒、B型流感病毒。诱导干扰素的合成，提高免疫反应和巨噬细胞和吞噬作用。提高机体抵抗病毒感染的能力。据有关医药文献显示，新药盐酸阿比朵尔具有较强的抗流感病毒活性，对甲型和乙型流感病毒复制的抑制率分别为80%和60%，可使小鼠流感病毒性肺炎的死亡率下降60%～70%，并具有干扰素诱导和免疫调节作用，主要用于治疗流行性感冒、呼吸道感染并发支气管炎及肺炎。
