Multi-Purpose Industrial Grade Packed in Bag Hydroxy Ethyl Cellulose Thickener

Product Introduction: Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC)

Product Name: Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC)

CAS No.: 9004-62-0

Appearance: White to yellowish fibrous or granular powder

Grade: Industrial Grade / Cosmetic Grade / Pharmaceutical Grade

Product Overview

Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC) is a non-ionic, water-soluble polymer derived from natural cellulose through a series of etherification processes. It acts as an efficient thickener, protective colloid, binder, stabilizer, and water-retention agent across a wide spectrum of aqueous systems.

Designed for optimal performance, our HEC delivers exceptional thickening efficiency, outstanding salt resistance, and excellent compatibility with various emulsions, surfactants, and polymers.

Key Performance & Advantages

• Superior Viscosity Control: Provides exceptional pseudoplastic (shear-thinning) flow behavior, ensuring easy brushability and excellent anti-sagging properties.

• High Water Retention: Effectively prevents moisture loss during application, improving open time and film formation.

• Outstanding Solubility: Dissolves rapidly in both cold and hot water to form a clear, smooth, and transparent solution.

• Batch-to-Batch Consistency: Manufactured under strict ISO quality control to guarantee low ash content, uniform substitution, and stable performance.

Primary Applications

1. Architectural Coatings & Paints: Acts as a primary thickener and protective colloid in water-based latex paints, improving leveling, scrub resistance, and pigment suspension.

2. Personal Care & Cosmetics: Used in shampoos, lotions, toothpastes, and detergents as a rheology modifier, stabilizer, and film former.

3. Oilfield Chemicals: Functions as a high-temperature and salt-resistant fluid loss additive and viscosifier in drilling muds and completion fluids.

4. Construction Materials: Enhances water retention, workability, and adhesion in cement-based mortars, tile adhesives, and gypsum plasters.

5. Polymerization: Serves as a dispersing agent in the suspension polymerization of PVC and other polymers.

Packaging & Storage

• Standard Packaging: 25kg paper-plastic composite bags with inner PE liners, or customized palletized packaging.

• Storage: Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight.
