DSPE–AZO–PEGn–OCH?

DSPE-AZO-PEGn-OCH₃ is a functional PEG-lipid conjugate series consisting of a DSPE lipid anchor, an azo-based functional linker, and a methoxy-terminated polyethylene glycol (PEG) chain. The PEG chain length can be customized across a range of molecular sizes, including n = 1, 2, 3, …, 44 , as well as higher-molecular-weight PEG variants such as PEG2000 and PEG3000 (approximately corresponding to n ≈ 45 and n ≈ 68, respectively).

The amphiphilic structure combines the membrane-anchoring properties of DSPE with the hydrophilic and steric-stabilizing properties of PEG. The azo linker provides a functional element for developing hypoxia-responsive and stimuli-responsive lipid systems. DSPE-AZO-PEGn-OCH₃ can be incorporated into liposomes, lipid nanoparticles, micelles, and other nanocarrier systems for drug delivery and tumor microenvironment research.

Different PEG chain lengths can be selected according to the desired formulation and application, allowing adjustment of hydrophilicity, molecular size, steric properties, and nanocarrier surface characteristics. The methoxy-terminated PEG segment can improve aqueous dispersibility and colloidal stability, while the DSPE moiety facilitates incorporation into lipid membranes and nanoparticle formulations.
