Pegtarazimod is a dual-target anti-inflammatory peptide composed of 15 amino acids and peg24, which functions by simultaneously modulating the complement system and neutrophil-related inflammatory pathways. In vitro and in vivo studies have shown that Pegtarazimod reduces reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and lowers the level of neutrophil elastase, a NET marker, thereby mitigating inflammatory responses. Pegtarazimod significantly improves mouse survival rates in various acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) animal models. It can also inhibit the activation of the C1 complex, reduce herpes zoster-like spread in HSV-1 skin infections, and enhance survival rates in infected mice. Pegtarazimod is applicable for research related to acute graft-versus-host disease, acute pulmonary diseases, and HSV-1 skin infections.
