Tasronetide is a selective inhibitor peptide of the NRP1/Plexin-A1 receptor system, consisting of 29 amino acids that specifically acts on its transmembrane domain. Tasronetide can counteract the inhibitory effect of Sema3A on the migration and differentiation of oligodendrocytes by blocking the heterodimerization of NRP1/Plexin-A1 complex, thereby promoting the formation of myelin sheaths around axons. Tasronetide has significant value in the study of chronic optic neuropathy and may promote the recruitment and maturation of oligodendrocyte precursors.
