简介：Insulin is a polypeptide hormone secreted by pancreatic beta cells. Insulin plays a significant role in 

many cellular activities, such as promoting the transport of glucose and amino acids, enhancing 

anabolism and reducing catabolism, and stimulating cell growth, etc. Insulin is a commonly added 

substance in serum-free mammalian cell culture media. Recombinant human insulin is functionally 

and structurally identical to the natural human sequence. This hormone is composed of two 

polypeptide chains, with the A chain (21 amino acids) and B chain (30 amino acids) covalently 

linked by a disulfide bond formed between cysteine residues.
