GaTx2 is a highly affinity ClC-2 blocker (epigenetic KD~50 pM) peptide with a sequence of 29 amino acids and 3 pairs of disulfide bonds. It can slow down ClC-2 activation and inhibit slow gating, but does not inhibit open ClC-2 channels. The selectivity of GaTx2 towards ClC-2 is superior to other members of the ClC family (ClC-0, ClC-1, ClC-3, and ClC-4), CFTR, GABAC, CaCC, and KV1.2.
