描述Villalstonine, a bisindole alkaloid, exhibits a broad spectrum of bioactivities, including anticancer, antimalarial, and anti-amoebic properties. It demonstrates potent antimalarial activity against the multidrug-resistant Plasmodium falciparum K1 strain, with an IC50 value of 0.27 μM.
体外活性Villalstonine ((+)-Villalstonine；化合物 43) 显示出显著的生物活性。对于 KB 细胞，其 ED 50 值达到了 11.6 μM，表明具有一定的细胞毒性。针对恶性疟原虫 T9-96 株，Villalstonine 表现出较高的抗性，其 IC 50 值为 0.94 μM。此外，该化合物在抗癌研究中也显现潜力，对 HT-29 细胞系的 ED 50 值为 8.0 μM。对于具有长春新碱抗性的 KB/VJ300 细胞，Villalstonine 的 IC 50 值为 0.42 μg/mL，进一步证实了其抗肿瘤和细胞毒性能。
