描述Ginsenoside Rg5 (Standard) is a reference standard of Ginsenoside Rg5. It is suitable for quantitative analysis, quality control, and related research such as biochemical experiments. Ginsenoside Rg5 is a major component of red ginseng and acts as a competitive agonist of IGF-1R with an IC50 of approximately 90 nM. Ginsenoside Rg5 inhibits COX-2 mRNA expression by suppressing the DNA-binding activity of NF-κB p65. Ginsenoside Rg5 exhibits higher cell membrane permeability and oral bioavailability than conventional ginsenosides, and demonstrates stronger antitumor, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective activities in various experimental models.
