描述RFRP-3 (rat) acetate is an RFamide-family neuropeptide characterized by a C-terminal Arg-Phe-NH₂ motif, consisting in rats of the 12-residue sequence VPNLPQRF-NH₂; RFRP-3 (rat) acetate(420088-80-8 Free base) exhibits functional specialization compared with related peptides such as NPFF and PrRP, acting primarily as an inhibitor of reproductive signaling; its neurons are localized to the dorsomedial hypothalamus and project to GnRH neurons and the median eminence, making RFRP-3 a critical tool for studying hypothalamic regulation of fertility, neuroendocrine signaling, and peptide evolution within the RFamide family.
