Suc-Val-Pro-Phe-SBzl is a sulfobenzyl ester substrate peptide composed of three amino acids. Compared to its corresponding p-nitroanilide substrate, Suc-Val-Pro-Phe-SBzl exhibits higher sensitivity, with kcat/Km values ranging from 0.5 to 8.3 × 10⁶ M⁻¹s⁻¹ for chymotrypsin, human leukocyte cathepsin G, human skin chymase, and murine mast cell protease.
