姜黄素

Curcumin is a natural pigment that is often used in candies, ice cream, carbonated beverages, pastries, etc. It is mainly extracted from the rhizomes of the Curcuma longa plant in the Zingiberaceae family. 

Curcumin is the main active component of the traditional Chinese medicine turmeric. Modern medical research has found that it has benefits such as anti-inflammation, antiviral, lipid-lowering, antioxidation, anti-tumor and longevity promotion.

It is non-toxic and has various pharmacological effects such as promoting bile secretion, anti-infection, causing uterine contractions in an intermittent manner, reducing blood cholesterol, anti-viral, antibacterial, antioxidant (its effect is stronger than α-tocopherol), anti-coagulation, lowering blood lipids, and anti-atherosclerosis.
