Abarelix

Abarelix is mainly used for the treatment of prostate cancer. It is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist that rapidly reduces testosterone levels by directly competitively blocking GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland, inhibiting the secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). Abarelix is the first storable formula for gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonists and the first new type of prostate cancer drug.
