Ac-Pro-Gly-Pro-OH is an endogenous degradation product of extracellular collagen and can serve as a CXCR2 agonist. It is a small-molecule peptide composed of three amino acids. Ac-Pro-Gly-Pro-OH exhibits bactericidal activity, suppresses pulmonary inflammation, and reduces immune cell apoptosis. It enhances the production of type 1 cytokines (IFN-γ and IL-12) while inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Ac-Pro-Gly-Pro-OH holds potential for research in sepsis.
