IL-15受体（IL15R）由IL15RA、IL2RB和IL2RG亚基组成异源三聚体。IL-15RA（亦称CD215或IL-15受体α链）是一种广泛表达的60 kDa跨膜糖蛋白，作为白细胞介素15的高亲和力受体。该受体可通过顺式及反式两种模式传递信号：在反式信号中，IL15R可从特定细胞亚群表面将IL-15递呈至邻近表达IL2RG的细胞。不同亚型的表达可能改变或干扰信号转导。白细胞介素15超激动剂/IL-15受体α融合复合物（IL-15SA/IL-15RA；ALT-803）能激活CD8 T细胞和NK细胞表面的IL-15受体，并展现出显著抗肿瘤活性。其信号转导过程涉及SYK激酶。在所有脑区结构中均存在可溶性sIL-15RA形式，且其水平高于膜结合型受体。
