石油添加剂专用氧化锌 广泛用于发动机、内燃机油及液压油等多种润滑油中，以减轻染料气体对发动机部分的高温磨损、腐蚀作用。
氧化锌在石油添加剂中主要功能（1）氧化锌能被炭、一氧化碳及氢在高温下被还原；（2）氧化锌是两性氧化物，在水中微溶或不溶，与酸反应生成相应的盐，与碱反应生成氢氧化锌（ Zn(OH)¬¬2） 在空气中长时间存放，能与二氧化碳等酸性气体反应生成碱式碳酸锌。
