Phospho-Hormone Sensitive Lipase (Ser855) antibody is a specialized tool used to detect the activated form of Hormone-Sensitive Lipase (HSL), a key enzyme regulating lipid metabolism. HSL plays a central role in hydrolyzing stored triglycerides in adipose tissue and cholesterol esters in steroidogenic tissues, releasing free fatty acids and cholesterol for energy production or hormone synthesis. Its activity is tightly controlled by phosphorylation at specific serine residues, including Ser855. which is part of a regulatory mechanism mediated by hormonal signals such as catecholamines (via β-adrenergic receptors) and insulin.
