The NCF4 (Neutrophil Cytosolic Factor 4) antibody is a tool used to study the NCF4 protein, a critical component of the NADPH oxidase complex in phagocytic cells. NCF4. also known as p40phox, interacts with other phox proteins (e.g., p22phox, p47phox, p67phox, and gp91phox) to form the active enzyme complex responsible for generating reactive oxygen species (ROS) during the respiratory burst. This process is essential for innate immunity, enabling neutrophils and macrophages to destroy pathogens. Dysregulation of NCF4 or the NADPH oxidase complex is linked to chronic granulomatous disease (CGD), an immunodeficiency disorder, and may contribute to autoimmune or inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis.

NCF4 antibodies are widely employed in research to investigate the protein’s expression, localization, and interactions within the oxidase complex. They help elucidate mechanisms of ROS production, cellular signaling, and immune response modulation.
