This interaction stabilizes adherens junctions, maintaining tissue integrity and regulating cellular signaling.

Mutations or altered expression of CTNNA3 have been linked to arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC), a condition characterized by fibrofatty replacement of cardiac tissue.
