Mutations in the *FMO3* gene are linked to trimethylaminuria (TMAU), a metabolic disorder characterized by the inability to break down trimethylamine, leading to a strong body odor. FMO3 antibodies are pivotal in studying enzyme expression, localization, and function in both normal and disease states.

These antibodies, often produced in rabbits or mice, are validated for applications like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA.
