ADAR1 (Adenosine Deaminase Acting on RNA 1) is an enzyme responsible for RNA editing, primarily converting adenosine (A) to inosine (I) in double-stranded RNA substrates. This post-transcriptional modification diversifies transcriptomes, regulates gene expression, and plays critical roles in innate immunity, neurodevelopment, and cancer progression.
