Kaiso (also known as ZBTB33) is a transcriptional regulator belonging to the POZ/zinc finger protein family. Initially identified as a binding partner of p120-catenin, Kaiso functions as a dual-specificity DNA-binding protein, recognizing both methylated CpG sites and a sequence-specific motif (CTGCNA). It plays a role in gene silencing by recruiting chromatin-modifying complexes, thereby regulating processes like cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Kaiso is implicated in cancer progression, where it often represses tumor suppressor genes or promotes oncogenic pathways, depending on cellular context.

Kaiso antibodies are essential tools for studying its expression, localization, and molecular interactions. They are widely used in techniques such as Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence to investigate Kaiso's role in epigenetic regulation, DNA methylation-dependent transcription, and cancer biology.
