It is primarily secreted into the extracellular matrix and plays roles in fibrinolysis, tissue remodeling, and lipid metabolism. Structurally, Tetranectin forms homotrimers with a carbohydrate-recognition domain (CRD) that mediates interactions with plasminogen and lipoprotein particles, influencing proteolytic and metabolic pathways.
