PHAPI2 (also known as APRIL, Acidic Phosphoprotein 32 Family Member B) is a member of the PHAP (Proliferation-associated protein) family, which plays roles in transcriptional regulation, apoptosis, and immune response modulation. It shares structural homology with other PHAP proteins, particularly PHAPI/APRIL-1. but exhibits distinct functional properties. PHAPI2/APRIL is implicated in regulating TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL)-mediated cell death, acting as a modulator of caspase activation and mitochondrial apoptosis pathways. Its expression is associated with tumor progression, immune evasion, and chemoresistance in cancers, making it a potential biomarker or therapeutic target.

Antibodies targeting PHAPI2/APRIL are essential tools for studying its expression, localization, and interactions in cellular models and clinical samples.
