The RAB45 antibody is a research tool designed to target the RAB45 protein, a member of the Ras-associated binding (RAB) GTPase family. RAB GTPases are critical regulators of intracellular vesicle trafficking, membrane dynamics, and organelle organization. RAB45. also known as RAB50 in some contexts, is a relatively less characterized member compared to other RAB proteins. It shares structural homology with other RABs, featuring conserved GTP-binding domains, but exhibits unique tissue-specific expression patterns, with higher levels observed in the brain, testis, and certain cancer cells.

Studies suggest RAB45 may play roles in autophagosome-lysosome fusion, endocytic recycling, and cellular stress responses. Its involvement in neurodegenerative diseases, cancer progression, and spermatogenesis is under investigation. The RAB45 antibody enables researchers to detect and study the protein’s localization, expression levels, and interactions via techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.

Commercial RAB45 antibodies are typically raised in hosts like rabbits or mice, using peptide antigens corresponding to conserved regions of the human RAB45 protein. Validation data, including specificity (e.g., knockout validation) and cross-reactivity, are essential due to potential homology with other RAB family members. Current research focuses on clarifying RAB45’s molecular mechanisms and pathological relevance, positioning this antibody as a key reagent for exploring its biological and disease-related functions.
