The TCEA1 (Transcription Elongation Factor A1) antibody is a tool used to study the TCEA1 protein, a critical component of the transcription elongation process in eukaryotic cells. TCEA1. also known as TFIIS, plays a key role in RNA polymerase II-mediated mRNA synthesis by resolving transcriptional pauses or arrests, ensuring efficient elongation. Structurally, it contains an N-terminal domain involved in RNA polymerase II binding and a C-terminal domain that stimulates transcript cleavage during stalling, aiding in the restart of transcription. Dysregulation of TCEA1 has been linked to various cancers, including cervical carcinoma and neuroblastoma, where its overexpression may promote tumor progression by enhancing oncogene transcription.

The TCEA1 antibody is widely utilized in molecular biology research to detect and quantify TCEA1 expression in tissues or cell lines via techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry (IHC), or immunofluorescence (IF). It also aids in studying TCEA1’s interaction with other transcription factors, such as p53. and its role in DNA damage response pathways.
