The MS4A14 antibody targets the MS4A14 protein, a member of the membrane-spanning 4-domains subfamily A (MS4A). This protein family, characterized by four transmembrane domains, is involved in diverse cellular processes, including signal transduction and cell adhesion. MS4A14. encoded by the *MS4A14* gene located on human chromosome 11q12.2. shares structural homology with other MS4A proteins but exhibits distinct expression patterns. It is primarily detected in epithelial tissues, such as the gastrointestinal tract, kidney, and respiratory system, suggesting potential roles in mucosal immunity or ion transport regulation.

Research on MS4A14 remains limited compared to well-studied family members like MS4A1 (CD20). However, MS4A14 antibodies have emerged as valuable tools for investigating its tissue-specific expression and physiological functions. These antibodies are typically developed for applications such as immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western blotting, and flow cytometry. Recent studies hint at possible associations between MS4A14 and diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) or cancer, though mechanistic insights are lacking.
