The MALT1 (Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue Lymphoma Translocation Protein 1) antibody is a tool used to study the role of MALT1. a key signaling protein in immune regulation and cancer. Discovered through its association with chromosomal translocations in MALT lymphomas, MALT1 functions as a caspase-like protease critical for NF-κB activation. It forms part of the CARD11-BCL10-MALT1 (CBM) complex, which links antigen receptor signaling to inflammatory and survival responses in lymphocytes. Dysregulation of MALT1. such as via t(11;18) translocations producing API2-MALT1 fusion proteins, is implicated in lymphoid malignancies and autoimmune disorders by promoting unchecked NF-κB signaling and cell proliferation.

MALT1 antibodies are widely used in research to detect protein expression, localization, and post-translational modifications in diseases like B-cell lymphomas, chronic inflammatory conditions, and immune dysregulation syndromes. They aid in diagnostics (e.g., identifying MALT lymphoma biomarkers) and mechanistic studies exploring MALT1's protease-dependent and -independent functions. Recent interest also focuses on MALT1 inhibitors as potential therapeutics, driving demand for specific antibodies to evaluate drug efficacy and target engagement in preclinical models.
