The BMP11 antibody targets Bone Morphogenetic Protein 11 (BMP11), a member of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily. BMP11. also known as Growth Differentiation Factor 11 (GDF11), plays critical roles in embryonic development, tissue homeostasis, and metabolic regulation. It regulates skeletal patterning, muscle development, and neural differentiation by activating SMAD-dependent signaling pathways through binding to activin type II receptors (ACVR2A/B) and ALK4/5/7. Dysregulation of BMP11 is linked to developmental disorders, age-related diseases, and metabolic syndromes. For instance, reduced BMP11 levels correlate with sarcopenia and impaired tissue repair, while overexpression may influence skeletal abnormalities.

BMP11 antibodies are essential tools for studying its expression, localization, and function in vitro and in vivo. They enable detection via techniques like Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA, aiding research on BMP11's role in cellular differentiation, organogenesis, and disease mechanisms. Additionally, therapeutic applications are explored, such as modulating BMP11 activity to treat muscle wasting, osteoporosis, or metabolic disorders.
