**Background of TDO2 Antibody**

Tryptophan 2.3-dioxygenase (TDO2) is a hepatic enzyme that catalyzes the first and rate-limiting step of the kynurenine pathway, metabolizing tryptophan into N-formylkynurenine. This pathway plays a critical role in regulating systemic tryptophan levels and generating bioactive metabolites involved in immune modulation, neurotransmission, and oxidative stress responses. TDO2 is primarily expressed in the liver but is also found in the brain, where it influences neurobehavioral processes.

TDO2 has gained attention for its role in cancer and immune evasion. Many tumors overexpress TDO2. depleting local tryptophan to suppress antitumor T-cell activity and promote immunosuppression. Its dysregulation is also linked to neurological disorders, including depression and neurodegenerative diseases, due to altered kynurenine pathway metabolites.
