The NEDD4 (Neural precursor cell Expressed, Developmentally Down-regulated 4) antibody is a critical tool for studying the NEDD4 protein, a member of the HECT-type E3 ubiquitin ligase family. NEDD4 plays a pivotal role in the ubiquitin-proteasome system, regulating substrate-specific protein degradation, intracellular trafficking, and signaling pathways. It contains distinct domains, including a C2 domain for membrane binding, multiple WW domains for substrate recognition, and a HECT domain responsible for catalyzing ubiquitin transfer. NEDD4 is involved in diverse cellular processes such as cell growth, apoptosis, and neural development, and its dysregulation has been linked to cancers, hypertension, and neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s.

NEDD4 antibodies are widely used in research to detect and quantify NEDD4 expression in tissues or cells via techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF). They also aid in studying post-translational modifications, protein-protein interactions, and functional mechanisms in disease models.
