The ABRAXAS2 antibody is designed to target the ABRAXAS2 protein, a key component in the DNA damage response and repair pathways. Initially identified as a paralog of ABRAXAS1 (also known as FAM175A or CCDC98), ABRAXAS2 (FAM175B) plays a critical role in maintaining genomic stability by facilitating the recruitment of DNA repair proteins to sites of double-strand breaks (DSBs). It interacts with the BRCA1-A complex, which includes BRCA1. BARD1. BRCC36. and others, to mediate homologous recombination repair (HRR). This function links ABRAXAS2 to cancer biology, as defects in HRR are associated with tumorigenesis and chemotherapy resistance.

ABRAXAS2 antibodies are widely used in research to study protein expression, localization, and interactions in cellular models.
