**Background of Rat IgG2b Antibody**

Rat IgG2b is a subclass of immunoglobulin G (IgG) produced by rats, part of the adaptive immune system. Like other IgG subclasses (IgG1. IgG2a, IgG2c), it consists of two heavy chains and two light chains, with the heavy chain determining the subclass. IgG2b is characterized by a distinct hinge region structure and disulfide bonding pattern, influencing its functional properties.

Functionally, rat IgG2b plays roles in pathogen neutralization, complement activation (via the classical pathway), and engagement with Fc receptors on immune cells, facilitating phagocytosis or antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC).
