**Background of GAB4 Antibody**

The GAB4 antibody targets the Grb2-associated binding protein 4 (GAB4), a member of the GAB family of scaffolding/adaptor proteins involved in intracellular signal transduction. GAB4. like its homologs GAB1. GAB2. and GAB3. plays a role in mediating signals from growth factor receptors (e.g., EGFR, insulin receptor) and cytokine receptors by recruiting downstream effectors through multiple phosphorylation sites and protein interaction domains. Structurally, GAB4 contains a pleckstrin homology (PH) domain, which facilitates membrane localization, and tyrosine residues that, when phosphorylated, serve as docking sites for SH2 domain-containing proteins like GRB2 or PI3K.

GAB4 antibodies are primarily used in research to study its expression, localization, and post-translational modifications in cellular signaling pathways. Studies suggest GAB4 is involved in immune regulation, neuronal development, and cancer progression, though its functions remain less characterized compared to other GAB proteins. Dysregulation of GAB4 has been linked to pathologies such as leukemia and autoimmune diseases.
